Scripture: Luke 16

Jesus tells us a parable of a shrewd manager. Its a difficult parable to handle because it appears Jesus is commending a dishonest man and tells believers to be like him.

Through the parable Jesus is telling all of us that like the dishonest manager, we will all have to give an account one day of all that God has blessed us with which is everything we own. We must be shrewd in the use of the resources God gives us.  How do we do that?   We use it to invest in people's lives.  These resources will touch people and when the earthly resources fail or fade away they will welcome us in heaven because of how we have used our earthly wealth for eternal purposes.

We can be generous in giving what only belongs to God when we see how much Jesus has given to us.  To leave heaven and to die for each of us. When we appreciate what a great salvation we have come to receive, we will then be able to give generously.
